Cross Wrap meets the high demands of municipal waste management in Iceland

SORPA, an Icelandic waste management company, is using Cross Wrap’s bale wrapper to handle waste for exportation. SORPA is a municipal waste management company serving the Reykjavík area in Iceland. Around two years ago, the local landfill was closing, so SORPA needed a new way to dispose of the incoming waste. As a sustainable solution, the plan was to recycle the waste by exporting it abroad for incineration and conversion into usable energy.

Shipping out loose waste would not be practical, so the company partnered with Cross Wrap to implement a bale wrapping line with a CW2200 Bale Wrapper for the safe and efficient handling of waste for exportation.
