Uruply S.A., Uruguay

Uruply S.A. in Tacuarembó, operating under the Lumin brand, has used a Cross Wrap Board Packaging Line since 2007 to automate export plywood packaging. The mill produces about 265,000 m³ of plywood annually, with 95% shipped to export markets.

Challenge

With most production exported, Uruply needed consistent, high-throughput packaging that protects products through long transport and occasional outdoor storage, while maintaining presentation quality for international customers.

Solution

The Board Packaging Line provides all-sides wrapped protection and fully automatic operation. At Uruply it runs 18–20 packages per hour on 1.22 × 2.44 × 0.80 m stacks, delivering reliable uptime with only about eight hours of weekly maintenance and remote support capabilities.

Key takeaway

Uruply achieved durable, export-ready packages with fewer transport damages and strong visual presentation, backed by long-term reliability from a line in continuous service since 2007.

The automatic Cross Wrap system does very efficient packaging with good product presentation and offers perfect protection to the boards for our export

– says Mr. Claudio Brasesco the Maintenance Manager for Uruply S.A. Tacuarembó mill.
