RePower South LLC, headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina (USA), has established two advanced recycling and engineered-fuel production facilities (in Berkeley County, SC and Montgomery, AL) that convert municipal solid waste into high-quality fuel.
In a market where landfilling has been the default for most waste streams, RePower South needed to shift the paradigm: recover valuable commodities (aluminum, steel, plastics, paper/cardboard) and then convert the remaining non-recyclable paper and plastic fraction into a clean, low-carbon fuel. This required handling large volumes of waste with minimal manual sorting, producing a fuel recognised by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a non-waste product, and creating baled fuel feedstock suitable for transport and use.
To meet these needs, RePower South employed a system integration including technology from Bulk Handling Systems, Loesche GmbH (via A-Tec RocketMill), license from Accordant Energy LLC for their ReEF™ fuel, and two of Bale Wrappers supplied by Cross Wrap for the wrapper stage. The wrappers secure the bales of feedstock (after baling by PAAL/Dokon balers) for safe transport and storage.
We are very satisfied with the Cross Wrap equipment and also CW’s LifeCycle Services support.
Mr. Matt Allers, Owner’s Representative, RePower South LLC
