ROTARY CUTTER is a fully automatic bale wire cutting unit to open transversal top wires or straps. The machine is easily integrated into existing conveyor system. The cutter floats on top of the bale and cuts the wires at the speed of the conveyor offering big capacity. The unit is easy to maintain and has low maintenance costs due to the robust structure.
LINEAR CUTTER is a fully automatic bale wire cutting unit for longitudinal top wires or straps. The machine is easily integrated into existing conveyor system. The cutter automatically stops and starts the conveyor while the bale arrives at the cutting area.
CROSS CUTTER has both linear and rotary wire cutting units for cutting longitudinal and transversal bale wires or straps. The machine can be integrated into existing conveyor system.

Cross Wrap’s custom-built conveyors provide reliable material flow between material processing stages. Designed for durability and precision.
Integrates an automatic scale directly into the line. It records bale or package weights, improving traceability and production monitoring. Note: Additional conveyor is needed.
The Wire Cutter is designed for bales tied with wires or straps only, without plastic film wrapping. It is most commonly used for recycled paper, OCC and pulper reject bales.
Yes. The Wire Cutter is compact and integrates into your existing conveyor system with minimal modifications, which makes it a natural choice for retrofit projects.
The Bale Dewiring Machine cuts, removes and coils the wires in one automated pass, so no wires continue into the process. The Wire Cutter only cuts the wires, which is a simpler and more affordable solution for processes where the wires can be removed later, for example by a ragger rope in the pulper.
Capacity depends on the model. The Rotary Cutter handles up to 60 bales per hour, while the Linear Cutter and Cross Cutter handle up to 40 bales per hour. Detailed bale sizes can be asked from our sales (sales@crosswrap.com)
It depends on the direction of the wires on your bales. The Rotary Cutter cuts transversal top wires, and the Linear Cutter cuts longitudinal top wires. The Cross Cutter combines both units for bales wired in both directions.
The wires are cut but stay with the material. In paper recycling, the cut wires are typically removed in the pulper by the ragger rope, which makes the whole bale opening process fully automatic. If your process requires the wires to be removed before the next stage, the Bale Dewiring Machine is the better fit.
Bale wires are under high tension, and when cut by hand they can snap back suddenly and unpredictably. The Wire Cutter automates this step, so operators no longer need to cut wires manually or stand next to the bale during cutting.
Yes. All Wire Cutter models cut both steel bale wires and straps.
It depends on the model. The Rotary Cutter floats on top of the bale and cuts at the speed of the conveyor, so the material flow keeps moving. The Linear Cutter automatically stops and restarts the conveyor when a bale reaches the cutting area.
Wire Cutters are mainly used in pulp mills, paper recyclers, debarking plants and power plant fuel processing.
